Hebrews 2

Dear RTB’ers,

Why need we pay closer attention…? Sins under the Law, as delivered by angels, were justly punished. Now we have a greater salvation in Jesus, with Old Testament prophecy fulfilled in Jesus and witnessed by (1) His close associates during His earthly life, (2) signs and miracles; and (3) His gift of the Holy Spirit. If sins under the Law were justly punished, how much more serious might be our neglecting Jesus’ offer of salvation? How might we be neglecting Him?

Blessings!

  1. I hope we all do indeed pay close attention to Hebrews and especially to our reading today in Hebrews 2. Spend some serious time and effort contemplating the full magnitude of what is said here. Look seriously at Who Jesus is. Meditate on the Cosmic Reality of the Incarnation. Ponder anew what is said in Psalm 8. Recognize that on the one hand Psalm 8 speaks about humankind and of each of us as individuals, and on the other hand it speaks of Jesus, the Archetypical Human, the Son of Man, in Whom we find our ultimate fulfillment.

Yes, pay much closer attention! (Heb. 2:1)
