Psalm 103
Dear RTB’ers,
Today, a Psalm celebrating God’s mercy in our times of trouble and His grace in blessing us with good things. Two verses stood out for me; I could not decide between them, so I’ve included both: He does not deal with us according to our sins, nor repay us according to our iniquities. In this first verse we see His mercy, in the second we see His love. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is His steadfast love toward those who fear Him. (vv. 10-11) Mercy and love – together, grace!!
Finally, Bless the LORD, all His works, in all places of His dominion. (v. 22a) This verse made me wonder how well nature knows its Creator. For example, we know that trees are alive, but at what level do they think and feel? Especially with respect to their Creator…?? I recall the story of Jesus calming the storm in our Jesus Storybook Bible, how when He spoke the wind and waves recalled His voice from when He created them. They obeyed His “Be still” command and the sea calmed. Awesome!
Blessings.
